How We Met:
Johnny and Liz were guests at a wedding I had previously officiated and instantly knew they wanted a similar experience for their own day. They loved the relaxed, joyful atmosphere and the way I included family and friends, making everyone feel connected to the ceremony.
The Ceremony:
Their dream was a laid-back, fun-filled wedding with a strong music theme, and their unique garden venue provided the perfect backdrop. We created a ceremony that was entirely personal, weaving in their love story, humour, and meaningful rituals.
Music played a huge role throughout—from playful entrance songs to personal vows inspired by their favourite lyrics.
Unity Candle Ceremony included both families, symbolising the merging of their lives and love.
Handfasting Ritual used their local county colours, bringing in a deep sense of identity and belonging.
They exchanged bone rings, carried by their beloved dog Bobby—a beautiful nod to a New Zealand tradition and their shared love of animals.
Johnny & Liz also had their guests participate, with instruments hidden under seats and interactive moments that had everyone laughing, clapping, and even singing along.
Personal Touches:
Their proposal story was woven into the ceremony—Johnny had built a sandcastle at their favourite beach, spelling out “Will you marry me?” in shells. This was just one of many personal details that made the ceremony unforgettable.
Their love of festivals, music, and each other was present in every moment. The ceremony was light-hearted yet deeply moving, reflecting their strong emotional connection, creativity, and love of life.
In Their Words:
“We had seen Louise officiate before and absolutely loved her warmth, humour, and how she made everyone feel part of the ceremony. She created a space that felt like us—fun, personal, and full of heart. It was more than a ceremony, it was a celebration of our story.”
